2024 Annual Meeting

In 2024, NAOC held our December Board Meeting in conjunction with the Army Military Munitions Safety Standdown (referred to as M2S2) Technical Meeting in Huntsville, Alabama at Redstone Arsenal.

The membership committee identified the Embassy Suites by Hilton Huntsville as the venue to hold our Board Meeting and a Reception/Networking event.

General Schedule of events for NAOC and M2S2 Sessions provided below (a link to the M2S2 agenda in the WhoVa app is listed below):

  •  Tuesday December 10th:
    • 0800 - 1130 - NAOC Board of Directors Meeting (Open to Members only) at the Embassy Suites, when M2S2 is holding DoD only events. Note no coffee/tea or snacks will be available during the Board meeting as breakfast is provided by Embassy Suites. 
    • BOD Meeting Agenda and Presentations
    • 1130 - 1300 - Lunch on your Own
    • 1300 - 1315 - M2S2 Welcome Session at Redstone Arsenal
    • 1315 - 1700 - M2S2 Open Plenary Sessions at Redstone Arsenal
    • 1800 - 2000 - NAOC Reception and Award Ceremony (Open to Industry and Government) at the Embassy Suites. Drinks and food provided free of charge. Leadership Awards were Presented to Ms. Lara Beasley and Mr. Shawn Corcoran, and a Lifetime achievement awardto Ms. Nancy Flaherty.
  • Wednesday December 11th:
    • 0800 - 0815 - M2S2 Welcome Session at Redstone Arsenal
    • 0815 - 1135 - M2S2 Breakout Sessions at Redstone Arsenal
    • 1135 - 1315 - Lunch on your own
    • 1315 - 1635 - M2S2 Breakout Sessions at Redstone Arsenal
  • Thursday December 12th:
    • 0800 - 0815 - M2S2 Welcome Session at Redstone Arsenal
    • 0815 - 1135 - M2S2 Breakout Sessions at Redstone Arsenal
    • 1135 - 1315 - Lunch on your own
    • 1315 - 1635 - M2S2 Breakout Sessions at Redstone Arsenal
A discounted Room Block for NAOC members had been coordinated for the length of the M2S2 meeting, of $159 per night+taxes.
Overnight parking is $16. Free breakfast is provided by the Embassy Suites

December 2024 Military Munitions Support Services (M2S2) Stand Down Information:

USACE has stated that the presentations will be available approximately 1 week after M2S2 is held. They will be provided as PDFs in WhoVA (application used to register and provided agenda)

This forum will bring together USACE, DoD leaders, federal land managers, state and federal regulators and contractors to discuss munitions response cleanup issues and initiatives, share programmatic information, and share lessons learned to foster strong working relationships.

5k Fundraiser for the EOD Warrior Foundation: We raised $3,454.71

NAOC conducted the 4th annual virtual run/walk in fall 2024 with all proceeds going to the EOD Warrior Foundation. Thank you to everyone who joined us in supporting so they can continue their support of the EOD Community and EOD Technicians worldwide! You also had the option to donate to the cause for those that did not want to participate in the event, or wanted to contribute more in addition to their registration fee.

This event was completely virtual and ran from September 16th, 2024 to December 15th, 2024. Ivy and Shawn Presneted a Check to the EOD Warrior Representative Mr. Greg Mittelman for $8,454.71 ($5,000 donation and $3,454.71 from the 5k) during the Evening Recption.
